The following guide on how to transfer a embroidery design, every step you need to know with your Punchcraft hobby.
  • All our transfers are designed to be used more than once. The iron’s temperature setting, the length of time the iron is on the transfer, and the amount of pressure placed on the iron will affect the transfer.
  • These three factors determine the number of times that the design can be clearly transferred. Therefore, if you plan to use the transfer several times, use the least amount of heat and the shortest amount of time possible to transfer the design.
  • Always prewash your garment or material (ours is already prewashed) before transferring your design; do not use fabric softener. Press the garment to give you a smooth surface.
  • Preheat iron for five minutes on appropriate setting for fabric being used. Do Not use steam.
    -
  • The ink transferred is the reverse to what it will appear on garment. (If working directly onto the garment) always test on a scrap similar to the material.
    -
  • Cut out your paper transfer.
    -
  • Place transfer, inked side down, on back of fabric. (Make sure you leave enough fabric around the edges of your design for your hoop to fit over).
    -
  • Place iron on transfer; hold for about five seconds, move iron to another position on transfer so all areas under steam holes are transferred.
    -
  • Carefully lift one corner of transfer to see if design has been transferred to fabric. If not place iron on transfer for a few more seconds.
    -
  • Your design is ready to put into you hoop.
